Who Needs Terrorists When We've Got KBR?
Jul 18, 2008 at 06:41AM
Proving once again that mercenaries private military contractors are the worst of options is this report on electrocutions of Americans by the American war machine. From today's news:
"During just one six-month period — August 2006 through January 2007 — at least 283 electrical fires destroyed or damaged American military facilities in Iraq, including the military’s largest dining hall in the country, documents obtained by The New York Times show. Two soldiers died in an electrical fire at their base near Tikrit in 2006, the records note, while another was injured while jumping from a burning guard tower in May 2007."
And this:
"But the Pentagon did little to address the issue until a Green Beret, Staff Sgt. Ryan D. Maseth, was electrocuted in January while showering. His death, caused by poor electrical grounding, drew the attention of lawmakers and Pentagon leaders after his family pushed for answers. Congress and the Pentagon’s inspector general have begun investigations, and this month senior Army officials ordered electrical inspections of all buildings in Iraq maintained by KBR." Read it and weep.
Is Bushco so corrupt that he will never admit his complete and utter failure as President of the United States or is he simply too stupid to see the truth?

Bush Continues His Lies To America And The World
Jul 16, 2008 at 07:47PM
Bush supporters can say what they want but no honest man or woman would believe the Bush Administration in the case of the outing of CIA agent, Valerie Plame. From today's news:
"President Bush invoked executive privilege to keep Congress from seeing the FBI report of an interview with Vice President Dick Cheney and other records related to the administration's leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity in 2003.
The president's decision drew a sharp protest Wednesday from Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of House Oversight Committee, which had subpoenaed Attorney General Michael Mukasey to turn over the documents.
"This unfounded assertion of executive privilege does not protect a principle; it protects a person," the California Democrat said. "If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?" Read it and weep.
Honest men don't have to hide the truth and the Bush-Cheney team is guilty of treason in the outing of Ms Plame. We have no business in any other nation until America no longer allows criminals to hold our highest offices.

I always thought you had to be single to get a marriage license but John McCain proves me wrong. From the news:
"McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife." Read it and weep.

The Empire Strikes Back Again
Jul 9, 2008 at 07:36PM
I donno, but I can't help but wonder how many people drive California highways every day of the week with stickers on the back windows of their cars. Should it be illegal to put stickers on car windows? Probably. But I can't help but think that a million or so California drivers do this every day without being ticketed. From today's news:
"When the officer came up to my window, he asked the typical police requests: registration, drivers’ license, insurance card," says Ovetz. "I asked him why he was pulling me over. And he said because of the bumper sticker on my back window."
That sticker says, "No to Empire," in large bold letters, and on the bottom in very small letters, "www.thenation.com," Ovetz notes. It’s a bumper sticker from The Nation magazine." Read it and weep.
It would be interesting to know the political affiliations of the San Francisco police officer who wrote a ticket for "driver’s clear vision" is "obstructed by snow or ice" in June.
Even without the free speech issues I really doubt this ticket will stand up in any United States court liberal or conservative as the ice and snow in June thing is simply over the top.

Are You Willing To Starve So That You Can Drive?
Jul 4, 2008 at 07:27AM
It's time America woke up to the options that are out there now and made Independence Day stand for more.
Another option would be to legalize Hemp for fuel, paper, clothing and food as Hemp makes far more fuel per acre than corn or grains and can thrive where traditional food crops cannot grow.
By the way, I already own some Hemp clothing including Hemp sneakers that last far longer than those Nike sneakers you're wearing. More info on Hemp here and here.
And when your son or daughter dies in Iraq, remember: It wouldn't be this way had we Americans stood up in the first place.

Take Away Their Guns And They'll Kill You With A Truck
Jun 9, 2008 at 06:44AM
And a knife.
From today's news: "Tomohiro Kato, the 25-year-old man accused of ramming pedestrians with a truck and then stabbing 17 bystanders in Tokyo's popular Akihabara district on Sunday, posted the messages on an Internet bulletin board from his cell phone, a police spokesman said." Read it and weep.
The problem isn't guns-- never has been. The problem lies in western culture, social values and an inability on the part of some people to manage their own mental health. These problems have only gotten worse under the Bush Administration as the cost of war continues to eat away at social services. Get used to it Japan. As the Japanese people continue to become more westernized the trend will no doubt grow worse.
Keep your guns, America, you're going to need them to kill off the neocons.

The Bush Economy Grows...
May 25, 2008 at 07:16AM
Weaker.
Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh made it quite clear this morning that the Fed has no intention of bailing out the banking, development and construction industries. From today's news:
"That does not mean the economy, badly bruised by housing, credit and financial woes, is out of the woods. The Fed, though, is hoping its powerful doses of cuts, along with the government's relief plan of tax rebates and breaks will help lift the economy in the second half of this year.
Zooming prices for energy and food and other commodity prices are raising some concerns that inflation could take off. Further reductions in interest rates would aggravate the situation." Read it and weep.
Might I remind you I predicted the current state of the economy several years ago when I first posted, Welcome To Bushville circa 2002.
So what else am I right about?

If I Were A Terrorist
May 15, 2008 at 08:23PM Or why you'd best start thinking about buying American.
The folks the US Government is currently calling terrorists simply aren't very good at being terrorists. Their approach is all about grandstanding and saying, "Hey Ya'll, look at me!" as if they were children on the schoolyard. If I were intent on causing terror and killing Americans here's how I would do it.
For starters, imagine Pop Tarts being dropped into exploding toasters. A toaster is the perfect device to ignite even the simplest of bombs as it has electricity, heat and an unknowing victim to push down the handle just before it goes boom.
Or what about a television that blows up when you switch channels? Imagine a WalMart, Best Buy, or Circuit City showroom loaded with exploding televisions. A little harder to do than rigging an explosive toaster but far more effective.
What about arsenic laden imported foods? Strychnine tea, anyone? What if the terrorists launched a new food product laced with acids that burned those who tried the free samples at the grocery store? Are you aware of how much of what you eat in America is actually imported?
If I were going to hijack airplanes I'd fly them into petroleum tank farms like the Colonial Pipeline tank farm right here in Greensboro, North Carolina. Did you know that every drop of oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene and home heating oil that flows to Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and the whole of New England arrives by way of this one tank farm-- the largest on the east coast? If you think gas is high now-- imagine if over 1/2 of the nation's fuel supply were hit by crashing planes into tank farms.
There are hundreds of deadly toxins that your municipal water company be they private or municipal simply doesn't test for. Add any of those toxins and the death toll could be in the thousands before anyone figured out the cause.
What if the terrorists launched a new food product laced with acids that burned those who tried the free samples at the grocery store?
Or computers that go boom.
